'Dateless' Indian Coins
« on: March 25, 2011, 03:43:37 PM »
I visited a small (well, it wasn't small considering the crowd) coin show today and found a new variety of Indian bimetallic 10 rupees coins (connectivity and Information Technology) without any date. :D Many dealers were having them (price ranging from 50 rupees per piece to 200 per piece) and were being sold heavily. When I examined them very carefully, the first two digits of the date were visible but not the last two, so making it difficult to decide the exact date. Just another case of weak strike but they are so badly struck that it's almost impossible to see the date without a magnifier.. ::)

Caution. The low-hanging fruits are still there maybe for a reason.

Another gem form the Kolkatta stable?

Exception are everywhere , see this latest blunder of New Zealand post .(off topic discussion sharing example)

Mistake Forces Royal Wedding Stamp Recall

New Zealand post has made a ‘royal’ mistake, it has had to withdraw the royal wedding first day cover collection after getting Prince William’s birthday wrong. The mistake was not on the two stamps themselves, but in the text of the booklet. It claimed the Prince’s birthday was the 21st of May, when it is June.the packs have been taken off the shelves to be re-printed.New Zealand post says the mistake is embarrassing and it will replace the packs already purchased.

Another incredible error of Czech Republic bank note posted today.

Cheers ;D

There was no year mentioned on the coin. so i have checked my all republic India coins which all have year.

Might be this topic is taken early on the board if so then pls help me with the link.

Can anybody put light on the same.

You are right Samir, Basaveshwar & Narayanguru are possibly the only commemorative coins in which neither year of issue nor year of commemoration is printed ;D  ;D  ;D

Yes, you are correct,

How i missed the same.

Let see how many are coming back to back.

Both the coins are from the same year 2006, the weight differs MB-8.85 gm. and JG- 9.5 gm

This is number 2.

Any comment

I think these are the only two coins i.e. Basweshwar & Jagath Gure and both are from 2006.

Today, I got one such DATELESS 10 rupee coin from a dealer. In this case, not even the first two digits can be seen.
