I don't know why I didn't find this one, but I didn't. It's about 22 mm, around 5 mm thick, 17.8 gram. All help welcome.

Dear Peter,
It's a Takka of either Bundi or Jaipur (Sawai Jaipur mint). The Takkas were struck almost identical, but only when the mint name is visible the coin can be attributed. Most likely it is an issue of Bundi State,
The coin is in the name of Shah Alam, Ry.26. Ref.: (Bundi) KM C#5.1;(Jaipur) KM#58.

OK! So they moved down a whole line, which competely altered the pattern of the coin. I feel less dumb now. A further question also. KM lists dates 42 (Jaipur), 43 and 44 (Bundi). I read 26 on my coin. There is a date 26 listed for C 17, but the obverse of that coin seems different to me.

DEar Peter,
Look at the 18th cent. edition of KM.

Figleaf

Yes, that solves it. The date 26 is not listed for Jaipur, so chances are that you are once again right thinking it's probably Bundi. Thanks for the patience, Oesho. I'm slow, but I get there.
