Serdang Plantation token (fantasy)

Unfortunately, my hopes are not very high on this piece. Scholten mentions it (Scholten 1034), but does not illustrate it. However, Lansen says (page 115): "as far as known at this time, no tokens with the legend Begerpang Estate or Betimoes are known".  What clinches it is that the owner of the estate, Société des Tabacs de Deli, started out with the Betimoes estate only in 1886. This makes the date 1875 on your piece impossible. Lastly, the edge on the dated side seems to indicate that the piece was cast. Therefore, I think this is a fantasy. Sorry.

Hi Kriyasa,

It a pity for you but this is a fantasy coin. You can also find it on the site by the section of the false/forgerie tokens. But the quality of youre token is very nice better than the picture I have on my site, so if you agree I will replace that picture with yours. Maybe you can get 10 to 15 euro for these token (if the buyer know its not real).
Of course its OK for me that you place the pictures on this forum. Then everybody can see it and learn about real and forgery tokens.
