I tried using my new learned skills of consulting Herr Google, but I'm not sure which words to search.  I thought the denomination was a Staipen.  Well, there doesn't seem ever to have been such a denomination from any country.  I tried using the letters on the reverse, to no avail.  On close examination, perhaps this coin has been altered.  Perhaps a letter or two has been lost.  Any ideas?

German States, Einbeck KM 40 - 1 pfennig nd (1647-1717)

obv: EINBEC around design element
rev: STAT (city) between denomination .I. and PENning

Nice beer-related coin (see link). First time I see a coin from this state.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

Before I checked out the link, I thought that you meant that your identification of the coin was worth a beer. And indeed, at the very least. Which now brings our account way past a six pack of Portland's best.
Or do you prefer Vino?  Some of Oregon's Pinot?
When I checked the link, I saw what you mean about Einbeck being a good beer related coin.
Oh.   ::)
Thanks again Peter,
