Have you considered that the train may actually have been 9 hours early? Now that is superfast. ;D

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

Now if you check Numismaster, all the mistakes have now been corrected. Canoeing coin is listed as KM# 1168. (Without image, I'll send it to George)

Thanks George and tsm, that was quite fast! :)

I think that someone has been too quick at moving this subject away from the UK Decimal board, as we do not yet know which will be dated 2011 - there is a suggestion that some might not be issued until next year.

I suggest that this be moved back to its original board for further discussion before any information is passed to cataloguers, which would cause yet further confusion.

Bill, All 29 Olympic 50p will be dated 2011, the uncirculated coins will match those already issued in BU packs. :)
always willing to trade modern UK coins for modern coins from elsewhere....

I've heard a rumour that this might not be so (prefer not to give the source at this stage), but there is a possibility that although the sets have been issued, there may also be issues next year.

Quote from: UK Decimal +we don't yet know whether they will all be dated 2011

All mine are dated 2011. I presume the circulation coins are similarly dated. From my understanding of the publicity issued when they were first put into circulation (October 2010), they were all put out simultaneously. I think the original idea was to issue so many per month, presumably with the apposite date on, between earlier in 2010 and some time in 2012, but for whatever reason that was shelved.

UK Decimal +

Information from someone 'in the know' is that something will be happening with Olympic 50p in 2012, but details are not known yet.   It might be another issue of the same ones or something like that, but no information is forthcoming as yet.

In the meantime, let's see if, between us, we can find the whole set from circulation.

I refer the honorable gentleman to my reply posted on: December 27, 2010, 10:22:08 PM.
I'm still 4 missing of the 16 which I know are out.... but it's costing me a fortune and I have lots of spares.  So we could do with some sort of trading/sales forum.

If you have bought any direct from the Mint, could you please say the grade that they are (UNC, BU, Proof, etc.) and are they also available as a set?

I should be able to get this myself, but I'm trying to make pregress using a very old PC!

Many thanks,

Bill.

I've bought all 29 from the RM in BU. They're not a set in the sense that they're each individually packaged (thus enabling the RM to charge £2.95 each -- they'd never get away with that if they were all in one capsule!), but they do come with a free folder to store them in, making them a coherent whole.

Intriguingly, the folder has a 30th space for a completer's medallion or some similar name -- I haven't had time to investigate on the RM website how one goes about acquiring this.

The five listed above have all been reported.

See www.coinsoftheuk.co.uk/dec50.html

That page has been updated with all the 2009 issues from the 16 coin reverse design set.
Indeed, I have carried out a major revision of all the decimal coin pages, adding
the multitude of proofs in gold, platinum, silver and the piedfort issues where known.
