The first that comes to mind is Levinson's Early dated coins of Europe - 1234-1500, but that is restricted as the title indicates.

One I know about, but have never used is:

Grierson, Ph. & Travaini, L. MEDIEVAL EUROPEAN COINAGE * WITH A CATALOGUE OF THE COINS IN THE FITZWILLIAM MUSEUM, CAMBRIDGE, PART XIV (III): SOUTH ITALY, SICILY, SARDINIA. 1998 ed., hardbound cloth, 25 x 20 cm., xxii, 639 pages, LXIII plates. 220,00

This listing comes from Mevius. Other options are the site of the Fitzwilliam museum and using the above in the library of the Geldmuseum. Its catalogue number is 08 A 025 01.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.
