Discussion: How to get New circulation Commerative Coins directly instead of dealers

Hi Guys,

This is regarding launch of Any New Commerative Coins.Well how is it possible to get New comm coins packet rather getting it them from dealers who are looters  .

For example coin packets of Dr.Rajendra Prasad. 75yrs of Rbi.
Currently Launched of 5rs commonwealth coin.
And also what rates i will get it from mints.
Can anyone help me out with this queries.

The answer is simple (at-least for you since you live in Mumbai)

• Go to RBI headquarter at Fort
• Go to cash section
• Spend 2-3 hours in the queue
• Ask the lady (they generally have a female at the cash section LOL) to give you a packet of newly released coin
• If you are lucky,then you will get a positive response.You may not always be pleased by their reactions.

Well, If the 5rs coin  packet of 100 is for 500rs  & if i pay 100-200rs more to them will i get it. Is there any chance of this happening ?

You will get it for actual value,you don't have to pay a single extra paisa for the packet.If packet has 100 coins of Rs 5,you will have to pay 500 bucks only.The main thing is that you should have that much patience to stand in long queues for hours.

umm thts not a issue.. i have patience to stand for abt 5-10hrs ....but i want to be sure tht i will get the packet.yes or no...

and also can i get abt 4-5 packets ?

You can get any number of packets,that's not the problem.According to my info,the cash section at RBI distributes coins worth 2 crore everyday I guess your demand is less than this amount

But before you go,may be it's a good idea to call them and ask if they have started their distribution.Else check RBI website.You will find press release of new commemorative issue there.Generally they start distributing the coins a week after press release.

umm ... well there is no issue thn..well aditya is it possible for any of the forum guys to let me know abt it whn it will come into circulation.. i will be going on tht day itself & try to get it .. and also willl buy for u guys if u want it ... Its just tht i want to release date of circulation or sale....

I think you can ask some dealer. Due to their contacts they have the latest information. They are also the first to get all latest items.

Otherwise you may try offering a little premium to the lady distributing the coins.

Another point, RBI press release only informs about launch of new coins. However their availability is totally different. For example RBI notification for 75 year of RBI was issued on 1 Apr. 93 days have passed but there is no sign of coins
