Did I find an unreported Mule/die variety coin Rs.5 Commonwealth Games - Hyderabad mint?

Please let me know if this is a mule or die variety. Thanks!

Best Regards.

This exists for almost all the nickle brass coins. Classify as variety

Thanks for confirming that this can be classified as a die variety.
I found the same in Mother Teresa - Hyderabad too (like you said that this is common in Nickel-Brass.)

Any idea why is this variety mentioned as a mule in case of Mother Teresa on following website:

Check up the definition of a mule. It cannot be applied in this context. The mints have off late followed a mix and match policy that IMO talking about die variety vs mule is now nearly irrelevant . It's better to simply say "different"

Then "Different" be it for the currently struck coins. :)
In case of few years older steel coins like Mahatma Basaveshwara which had a variety struck with Copper-Nickel die, I think they can be still called mules.

Definition of mule coin is one struck from a die meant for another type of coin. I hope I got this right.

Thanks for your help paisepagal!
Best Regards.

You are absolutely correct Oracleji............Bhagat Singh Nickel Brass Coin has been struck with the same die as FSS and are equally poor in quality if not more.......

Alas, the Bhagat Singh Brass coin which I have is after all a variety and not a mint error.  :-\

I need to spend more time on this forum rather than eBay to understand what you learned men/women are talking about.  :P

Thanks All!
