Friends,

Logo of CWG Games was released in two forms - (1) with word TMC as well as (2) The copyright mark (c).

I dont know which one is the official logo. However the coin has neither TMC nor (c) but a dot.  ;D  ;D  ;D

Dear Friends

I dont know if the coin has error or not. But I am sure of one thing. Mr Patney has a keen eye for details and he is a good observer with fine memory. On seeing my CWG coins, I never realized that the CWG logo has TMC. I was always under the impression that it has copyright (c) symbol.

Thanks Mr Pateny.

PS: I suspect that Mr Patney also keenly watches all birds (non flying type) in his neighbourhood

I'm not sure if this qualifies necessarily as an error in numismatic terms (need to see what's on my set!)...but this will be a nice point to note in the thread I'm putting up on Personalities & Events on Indian coins...thanks Patney!

missing the woods for the trees professor?   ;D ;D ;D

i have never heard a company initials or copyright being part of an actual logo.  Next you will say that TM is also part of logo.

In numismatics this cannot be termed as an error as you have rightly stated.  I am sure we will find our overzealous seller friend selling this on ebay for 999.

Its yesterday once more  :D

Patney

The Logo printed on the card board packing of the coin set has on the Top right hand side of the logo TMC is written in small letter, indicating that trade Mark and Copyright. Please compare the logo in the minted in the coin and logo printed on the Card Board Carton, even if tit is different, not also the DOT on the coin just above the 2010 has no meaning, and should not have been minted on the coin. Another ERROR CREDIT TO NAME OF INDIA GOVERNMENT, KOLKOTA, Famous for error coins.

Agree to that one! I never noticed this too. I think it would have been difficult to depict the "(c)" symbol on the minted coins (remember in the design for the smallest coin this will not even register) and so the engraver went for the dot instead.

I don't think that will cut it...I need to fly out to Cal and pay the mint staff too starting with the GM ...now only if i can start a collection drive on this forum to fund my calcutta sojourn >:D

ill fund your trip if you take a detour to DC and pick me a few odds and ends  ;D

As I mentioned on an other thread, I saw the Rs 2 coins @ 100 each at the Ahmedabad fair in August. Could not resist picking up one........... yesterday, was offered Rs 5 @ 30 each. Expect to get them this evening......... Nothing in actual circulation here........
