Solomon Islands

The first coins to be issued for the Solomon Islands were in 1977, prior to which Australian currency was in use.  Two commemoratives have been issued, a 50 cent in 1988 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of independence and a 20 cent 1995 FAO issue, though dated 1995 it wasn't until 2004 that they appeared on the market.

1) 1 Cent, 1996, Food bowl
2) 2 Cents, 1996, Eagle spirit of Malaita (one of the indigenous peoples)
3) 5 Cents, 1993, Santa Ysabel (native mask)
4) 10 Cents, 1993, Ngorieru (sea spirit)
5) 20 Cents, 1993, Malaita pendant
6) 50 Cents, 1990, Coat of arms
7) 1 Dollar, 1997, head of Nusu-Nusu (sea spirit)
8 ) 20 Cents, 1995, FAO
9) 50 Cents, 1988, 10th anniversary of independence.
