We are moving off the topic again ;D,but let me just ask-how many coins does a roll of 1 cent coins contain?or in general, how many coins are present in a roll of each denomination? I know that for 1 and 2 euro, the roll contains 25 coins.

There are no deletions in my want-list of euro coins recently, but hopefully will be able to remove some of the coins from the list as my friend will be spending 2 months in Paris :) He has been strictly instructed to check each and every 1 and 2 euro coin that he'd get in change :D

The amount in a roll may change from one mint to another. I see 25 coins in a 2 euro roll (BE, NL) and 50 pieces in rolls of 2 cent (FR, LU) and 1 cent (FR, LU).

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

Thanks,Peter.I have one more question-in Portugal, they have 'bags' as well as rolls of euro coins. So what is the difference between bag and roll? Also,Italy used to have 40 coins in a roll of 2 euro coins, but now they have 25 coins, like other countries,am I right?

The number of coins in a roll, and the color of the roll paper, are standardized in the entire euro area.

2 euro: 25 coins (€50), purple/violet
1 euro: 25 coins (€25), yellow
50 cent: 40 coins (€20), green
20 cent: 40 coins (€8), orange
10 cent: 40 coins (€4), blue
5 cent: 50 coins (€2.50), red
2 cent: 50 coins (€1), gray
1 cent: 50 coins (€0.50), white

Bags may be used instead; not sure what applies to them. But if rolls are used, they will meet the above specifications.
