Say thanx & cheers to Kolkata mint... lets hope these guys send a tagore coin set to me also..

Has any one given a thought to the plight of the person who ordered the set and will be told that the material was already delivered............It would be a shock....(may be not since it is the Kolkatta mint that is involved........)

Dear friends

India won the world cup. But Tagore is the man with the top score, albeit in musical terms.

It is rare for international sports events to begin and end with players of different nationalities singing anthems inspired / written by same man. Apart form the desire to win, Tagore ws the common factor that linked at least three teams of subcontinent - India, Bangladesh & Srilanka.

Nobel Laureate composed our national anthem 'Jana Gana Mana'. Many are aware that he was also the composer of Bangladesh national anthem 'Amar Soar Bangla'. However very few people realise the impact of Tagore on Sri Lanka's anthem 'Sri Lanka Mathaa'. This was written by Tagore's student Ananda Samarkoon. This composition is in style of Rabindra sangeet. Some also credit Tagore with composing its music also.

Has any one come across the Noida coin? I saw the coin today and attributed it to Kolkatta. Then the person who had the coin showed me the mint mark........well engraved but was after the date..... Normally it should have been under the date.......

Oracle mentions different varities of hyd mint for tagore in his blog..
I have been fortunate to get 1 hyd mint tagore in bbay(assuming that the one i got would be most common one). Would appreciate if someone can throw light on the different varieties (more harder to find) of hyd mint for this issue.

Oracle does mention each of the varities in his blog here http://www.indiacoins.org/2012/02/5-varieties-of-tagore-hyderabad-mint.html. But someone who understands better and had to opportunity get them, please post some pics.

Thank u for time and efforts for the same.

Regards,

Vivek
