In another forum somebody mentioned this new pseudo-coin "from" Benin which commemorates ... cannabis. The piece seems to be part of a "Famous Plants of the World" series. A silver-plated Cu-Ni piece, with a colored cannabis leaf. And according to the translation (I do not speak Russian), "this coin even smells like a plant." ;D

The article (in Russian) is here: http://libymax.ru/?p=7438

And here are two pages from coin dealers. Not because I want you to buy the piece from them, but because they are in English ...

Figleaf

Bizar. At least, now I know fersure that the leaves of this famous plant are green. Coloured "coins" are so instructive.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

And I hope they got the scent right ... Would not want to pay €50 for such a piece, but if I got that as a present, I would sure keep it. 8)
