Saw some single 5 rupees commemorative coins of proof quality yesterday for sale. All were issued by Mumbai mint in special packaging (coin card),but I can't find any kind of information about them anywhere,I haven't even heard of these single proof coins before.Does anyone know how to get them? Can we get them directly from mint?

A couple of months back, Basaveshwara 5 Rupee single coin set was sold, also from Mumbai mint. I think you can still get it from eBay. You could buy these coins with or without the package. They had the M mint mark instead of the diamond.

Not only are these predictably at a premium but they are passed on to dealers who put a margin on that and sell.

Maybe someone from Mumbai could go to the mint and see if they can be purchased across the counter?
