17,58g / 24mm
somewhat worn but well centered and still fully legible.
"zarb falus Isfahan" undated
appears to have circulated for decades, which shows that the frequency of renewal of these coins could vary greatly depending on the mint places.

People could make whole careers out of cataloguing civic coppers. I tend to suspect that someone or some folks have done just that. Nice work, Saro.

Maybe, but the last attempt to catalogue the civic issues I am aware of is Valentine and that dates from 1911...

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

in fact no catalog exists for these coins, to find a reference, as best we have to go to :
- Lane Pool /British museum
- KM / South Asian coins
- World of Islam / M.Mitchiner 1977
- Kutelia / Georgia State museum 1990
- Copper Coins of Iran / B. Alaeidini 2013
- Sylloge of Islamic coins in Ashmolean museum / S. Album 2001
And of course, to Zeno and ..WoC !

A comprehensive catalogue would be a challenge, each month, thanks to the web, new coins surfaced, but why not ?

Probably the best solution is not a paper catalogue, but an online catalogue with a flexible numbering system and an appropriate warning that could be updated immediately.
