Dr. Paul Stevens in the "The coins of the English East India Company Presidency Series" includes all the variants of the one pagoda coins minted at Madras during 1808 - 1817 (first picture below). The reverse (with the God) has beads in the cross on either side and they are typically 11 on the left and there is one variant with 13 (second picture below).

I found one coin in my collection with only 9 beads on the left (third picture below)!!
It looks genuine and was authenticated and graded by NGC.
I bought it from a reputable dealer in Australia.
Did I find a rarity or got stuck with a fake?

The one with 13 dots is a 2 Pagoda coin - my bad.
I went through acsearch.info and could not find a single 1 pagoda specimen with 13 dots - so that should be very rare. All the coins had 11 dots, except for one with 9 dots (below). So my coin is probably not a fake, just undocumented.
