I have seen no 2023 coins in circulation yet. Not a single one of the new wildlife coins.

How about you?

Partly the spread of cashlessness must be to blame. We have a situation where the King is already old and is having treatment for cancer. Let's hope he comes through this 100 percent. If he does not, who knows but that those new wildlife coins that exist might become "very valuable".  :-\

Same here in Devon.

My daughter though, who lives in Manchester, has had two 50p salmon in her change.

The Royal Mint has just announced that this week, 2.975 million 'bee' 1 pound coins will enter general circulation. The coins will likely be dated 2023.

The 2023-dated salmon 50p's that were minted for general circulation (so without privy mark) are now being sold for upto 50-60 pounds each.

Scandalous. Deeman should trick his daughter out of hers and sell them.  >:D

Apparently the King's cancer treatment is going well, so there should be plenty of his coins around if he lasts into his 80s or 90s. Though there is already a question mark over the survival of the penny and 2 pence coins, because inflation is rendering them pretty useless. To my knowledge the wildlife series 1p and 2p coins have not been issued into circulation yet.

I do wonder if all the Salmon 2023 50p's have been issued - it's quite likely more 2023 coins will be found towards the end of the year.
always willing to trade modern UK coins for modern coins from elsewhere....

I've had a couple of leaping salmon 50p coins in my change. The vast majority have been purloined by the eBay con men to sell at astronomical prices.

The first pieces of the 2023-dated bees 1 pound coin have been found in circulation in Keswick.

<k>

So now somebody will sell some on ebay for a huge price, and the buyers will get "stung".  :D

The rural post offices where I live have not seen any of the new £1 or 50 pence coins when I asked on Friday.

The mintage figures of the 2023-dated coins minted for general circulation are out:

1 penny hazel dormouse: 600,000 pieces
2 pence red squirrel:         0 pieces
5 pence oak tree leaf:        32,400,000 pieces
10 pence capercaillie:        600,000 pieces
20 pence puffin:                 525,000 pieces
50 pence salmon:               200,000 pieces
50 pence coronation:         5,000,000 pieces
1 pound bees:                    10,030,000 pieces
2 pounds national flowers: 0 pieces

This makes the 2023-dated salmon 50p the rarest UK 50 pence coin in general circulation.
