Winrich von Kniprode was the 22nd Hochmeister (Grand Master) of the Teutonic Order from 1351 - 1382. He was the longest serving Grand Master, maintaining his position for 31 years.

The Teutonic Order under his guidance had reach a "moral peak" during the Baltic Crusades. He also achieved victory in the Battle of Rudau against the Grand Duchy of Lithuania which was the last serious threat from the Lithuanians in Prussia.

He would also do major renovations to Marienburg/Malbork Castle a Teutonic fortress in honour of Mary, mother of Jesus. Upon his death he was buried in the castle mausoleum under the Chapel of St. Anna.

I wouldn't call it "very poor condition". Obviously it could be better but, as far as i know, these coins ain't easy to get. Also, these pieces are always interesting to watch.

Since there is a shilling of a very similar design, but different legend, weight and size of your coin would be appreciated, even if your coin looks a bit clipped.

I agree with Tirant. Note that yours shows more detail than the coin on Numista on the side with the arms, though the legend on the side with the cross is worse off.
