Paul Von Rusdorf was the 29th Hochmeister (Grand Master) of the Teutonic Order from 1422 - 1441.

He is most notiable for signing the Treaty of Melano in 1422, which stopped the Gollub War between the Teutonic Knights and the Kingdom of Poland, and Grand Duchy of Lithuania.

However, war with Poland would continue in 1431 when Paul signed the Treaty of Christmemel, which allied the Teutonic Order with Švitrigaila the Grand Duke of Lithuania. Švitrigaila had waged war on his own brother Polish King Władysław II Jagiełło for the throne of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.

Newest coin in my collection. (Top picture obverse). (Bottom picture reverse).

Excellent picture. Nice coin. Legible legends. See Numista 141451 for details.

The shield with a black eagle on a silver shield is likely inspired by the generic arms of a grand master of the Teutonic order.
The black cross on a silver field shield on the reverse is the coat of arms of the Teutonic order.

Mint was likely Königsberg (Brandenburg).
