Bahamani Sultanate - Tanka AH 815 - Taj ud din Firuz

A new pick up for me and my second Bahamani Sultanate coin.
AH 815 Silver Tanka 26.12mm  10.96g 
Taj ud din Firuz    Ahsanabad Mint.
I am going to attempt to decipher what I can on the coin, and report back.

Congrats on this aquisition. I have not seen very many big Bahmani silvers. This is a nice strike !
Succes with trying to transcribe this. There are some small calligraphic oddities, but all in all this one i would consider well readable. Do not hesitate to ask for some assistance though if you get stuck.
I don't know if you already use this tool and may feel this handy: in Google Translate set the language in the left frame on Arab. And just type in the field a word you think to see on the coin in latin letters. Google will provide a preview of what it thinks you might be meaning in Arab script.

My first attempt at translating the top row

either taj aldhanab - the crown of guilt (sounds ominous!)
or taj aldunya    - the crown of the world (sounds more likely)
or Taj Al-Dazi   - no idea

The t needs the second dot above - I think it is just showing on the edge of the flan, plus it had to be, given the title of the ruler.
I can't yet tell the difference between n and z
The ya sounds more likely than b, but it is missing the second dot under, but your comment about calligraphic oddities, along with the context makes me suspect the ya is correct.
The final alef seems redundant but I put it there anyway.

The beginning of the second line has me stumped, especially the character that looks like the numeral for 2, but I think the line ends in the name of the sultan 'Firuz'

so I end up with wald?t f'ruz......perhaps. Translate doesn't really help me here.
Any input would be appreciated.

Hi Grant, i think you already did great !
Arab names have a certain structure with different parts:
"Taj al-dunya wa al-din" is the "Laqab" part of the name. It is a sort of honorary title.
So the first line reads "تاج الدنيا", crown of the state. This already has some things to make it more difficult:
-The "Jim" (J) of "Taj" has the shape for the end of word version of this character. This "ج" is different from the form which would occur if the character was in the beginning or middle of a word "جـ". More background here.
-The vertical part of the "dal"(d) of al-dunya in proper arab should be a little oblique to be easily readable. But this does not look nice calligraphically, so it is just vertical. The "nya" part often looks like it is written on your coin. The "nun" has a diacritic dot as clarification. The "ya" (y) does not, but is implied because the line bends downward below the end baseline of the nun and then goes over in the rising "alif" (A).
The second line reads "wa al-din Firuz". "و الدين فيروز". You traced the "Wa al-d" part in blue. The elements after that is the "in", "ين". Again here no proper diacritics on the coin, but the shape suggests the reading. "wa al-din" means "and of the religion".
Then comes "Firuz" "فيروز". Thas is the "Ism" or personal name. Note the difference with "Fruz" "فروز". So the two dots which are in the end bowl of "din" "ين" and suggest "يت" belong to the "Firuz" above it.

Written Arab, often may have multiple interpretations because the vowels are not always written explicitly. Therefore, next to the diacritic dots there sometimes are additional small marks and squiggles which help in pronunciation. I would not worry about this to much for now.

I haven't done much more in my attempts to translate, but I will make time over the coming weeks / months.
I have taken a great liking to these large silver tankas and purchased another 9 examples, which should arrive in the coming weeks and months as they make their way slowly through the mail system.
