The Gujarat Coin Society recently organised the annual Coin Fair - a Coin Exhibition as well as a Trade Fare for Numismatics.
It was a great event with 81 dealer stalls and over 50 small dealers who were provided an open space to sell their wares. 46 display frames by 16 collectors made up the display section.
The display started with Ancient Terracotta and included, Ancient Indian coins, Sultanate coins, Mughal coins, Coins of various Princely States & British India Notes and also included Commemorative coins & Notes of Republic India. A collector of tokens from Surat displayed his collection of Bicycle License Tokens, Dog Tokens and some Railway related tokens. My display was of tokens related to the Indian Textile Mills. There was also a display of Holed coins from across the world and Polymer Banknotes and coins also from across the world.
All in all, it was a fantastic event - all 3 day.
I post below pictures of y display - 3 frames on Mughal coins and 2 on Tokens. Also sharing an image of a Memento and certificate awarded to me for the display.

My display of Mughal Coins of Akbar, Jahangir, Shah Jahan, Murad Baksh & Aurangzeb - from the Mughal mint at Ahmedabad and also including a coin of Muzzaffar Shah III who regained his lost empire for a brief 3 or 4 months.

Also displayed were a small collection of Canteen Tokens used in the Indian Textile Industry and one frame devoted to the other tokens and Medals issued by the Textile Mills in India.

The last picture is of Me receiving the Memento & Certificate......

Thanks Vic. India sees a lot of coin fairs, some local affairs while some are National fairs. However, only a few have room for displays.
When I took charge of organising the display at Ahmedabad Fair in 2019, we had 15 frames and 3 exhibitors - since the management of the local coin club was in the hands of traders. In the last 4 years (less one lost to COVID), I have managed to increase the number of frames to 46 this year with 16 collectors (we lost the display of one collector who was to display 6 frames at the lat moment as a wedding came up in his family).

Very nice way to present these to the public ! Unfortunately, here in western Europe this type of fairs have become almost absent over time.

Blame the internet. However, that technology has also opened new opportunities. Look at Deeman's extravagantly beautiful posts on British and Roman coins for instance, or admire the WoC video collection. Sure, they are pictures, not the real coins, but that difference is not as big as all that.
