Hello dear friends. I'm relatively new in the "collecting" bit of Byzantine coins, but have acquainted myself with the literature enough to be able to hold my own on the topic. So here are the three coins that I will be purchasing today, and I would love to hear your thoughts and concerns if any. Given that I can't post some of my own pictures I'll try to describe them to the best of my ability and provide links for the coins that look most like the ones I'm interested in  8) .

1. Phocas - Half Follis https://www.ma-shops.com/vossen/item.php?id=3847

2. Leo VI - Follis https://www.ma-shops.com/noel/item.php?id=58334

* Important notice: The first Cross on the reverse, before "LEON" is missing on the one I want to buy, do you reckon it was rubbed off? Seems unlikely but interesting theories are welcome of course.

3. Maurice Tiberius - Follis https://www.ma-shops.com/an/item.php?id=67

* Face also somewhat rubbed off on mine.

Finally, how do you think I should determine the most objective price, considering the plethora of price fluctuations on the net?

Thanks a lot, everyone. I am truly grateful to be able to learn from all of you.

Leo

P.S: Anyone know how to upload pictures? I tried the insert button with the URL but nothing posted.

MA-shops is a place where trusted dealers go. Surprises are always possible, but your chances of getting a genuine coin are good. Once you found a dealer who has the kind of stuff you are looking for, I suggest you use his own web site, though. Dealers will be more inclined to give you a discount if you order directly from them.

Can't comment on the coins, they are a matter of private taste and collecting objective.

As for posting a picture, right below the window you type in to make a post is a bar labelled Click or drag files here to attach them. Mind the size and file format restrictions. Put your cursor in the right place, drag and click insert. That's all to upload a picture from your own hard disk.

I do not recommend embedding pictures. They disappear when the link is broken, which devalues the thread. If you want to embed anyway, look at the (upper) bar of buttons above the area where you type. Use the button between "YouTube" and "add link" to insert a URL of an image.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.
