This 1918 British West Africa 1 penny coin has its obverse flattened and stamped, with individual punches, with: TIKO CAMEROONS.

Tiko is a city in Cameroon which was located in the part under trusteeship of Great Britain. The coin was probably counterstamped by one of the soldiers, or other GB personnel, station there. Probably in the 20's or 30's when the former German "schutzgebiet" of Cameroon was divided between GB and France under League of Nations mandate.

A soldier's souvenir piece seems a fair assumption, Henk. (South) Cameroons is a typical UK usage.

I view of the good polishing, the nice alignment between the letters and exemplary positioning of the legend in a circle - but not in relation to the coin's outer edge - the empty space between the left dot and the T and the comma after the O surprises. TIKO, looks like an afterthought.
