"@JMP check out Hyderabad minor coins from 1322 to 1362."

Yes Peter, I know the coins of Hyderabad, Bahawalpur and others that have the tughra on their obverse, but ... I had not expected that of Iran! Thinking at the historical feud: Iran-Turan and how Turan was with the years projected from Turkestan to Ottoman Turkey, I would never have tought Iran capable of using a such Ottoman symbol as the tughra. But one is never to old to learn, I must admit :) .

Dear JMP, please look at this WoC post dated July 16, 2016:
Qajar / Nasir al-din Shah qiran / Mashad mint dated 1291 - Tughra type
The coin is a Qajar coin, but it is a Tughra type.
There is another one, Medal for the 25th anniversary of the national bank of Iran, also has a Tughra:,35909.msg227165.html#msg227165,45180.msg284102.html#msg284102

Coin collecting has a curious name. It is also called the "Hobby of Kings".

Thank you Maythem! Amazing indeed, I would not have searched that coin in Persia/Iran.
