I have one coin from Reunion Island, a 1964 1-Franc. In 1964 I was nine years old. What I remember of 1964 is that it was the last year we (USA) had Silver circulating coins. Well there was a couple years the half had 40% but it didn't circulate much.

Hope you get back to normal soon!

Best wishes; glad you're okay!

My first acquaintance with your island was a 1964 Reunion 1-franc. The word "Reunion" on its reverse gave me a lot of trouble, being a little kid with of course no Internet and not even a world coin catalog. I decided it must be some sort of commemorative, of a reconciliation, a national get-together, or of a reunification of some sort. All I really knew was that it was French and that "reunion" was an English word for something good.

Hope things fall quickly back into their usual patterns for you and yours.
