Luxembourg has issued variants of its 10 cent, 20 cent and 2 euro coins dated 2023 into general circulation. These circulation coins were minted both by Royal Dutch Mint and Monnaie de Paris, and depict the mintmarks and mintmastermarks of the respective mints. Normally Royal Dutch Mint manufactures all general circulation coins for Luxembourg. It is unknown why Monnaie de Paris this year also did a part of the production.

Luxembourg uses various mints, also for the country's circulation coins. In previous years they were mostly made in the Netherlands but also in Finland and France.

Yes, I am aware that in the past Finland and France minted standard circulation coins for Luxembourg. But since 2008 it is Royal Dutch Mint. So it remains strange that now a part of the production was done by Monnaie de Paris. Furthermore, never before did multiple mints consecutively manufacture the same standard coins of Luxembourg for general circulation.

Thanks for the info, is it definitely just those three coins?

According to a German collector who had contact with BCL about this, it is indeed only the 10 cent, 20 cent and 2 euro coins that were minted for general circulation by both mints. All of the other denominations were only minted for general circulation by Royal Dutch Mint.

The 10 cent, 20 cent and 2 euro coins manufactured by Monnaie de Paris will only be minted for circulation. They are not available in any sets.

The 20 cent and 2 euro coins minted by Monnaie de Paris have so far been reported as found. There are no reports of finds of the 10 cent yet.
The most likely reason I can think of for the involvement of Monnaie de Paris, is that Royal Dutch Mint was unable to supply the order of Luxembourg in full. If that is indeed the case, it would be yet another occasion at which the mint is unable to supply, which is unacceptable. Certainly now that the company is part of Royal United Mint (a group of companies owned by Heylen Group, that are active in the minting industry), one would expect that things had improved. This does however not seem to be the case.

Thanks, certainly interested in getting hold of these.

BCL kindly provided the mintage figures of the coins minted by Monnaie de Paris:

10 cent: 1,200,000
20 cent: 900,000
2 euro: 1,400,000

The total mintage figures were already known:

As for the reason why Monnaie de Paris did a part of the production they mentioned: "The main reason for this production by Monnaie de Paris have been the security and rapidity of supply for these denominations". Which does not say a lot.

Shouldn't be too difficult to get hold of then!

The 10 cent denomination that was minted by Monnaie de Paris has now also been reported as found in circulation. This was also verified with a photo.

What's the main difference between the one minted in France and those in the Netherlands? Found one today!

As eurocoin already mentioned, mintmarks and mintmastermarks are different. You find them before and after the date.
