France 2023: Rugby World Cup

To commemorate the Rugby World Cup 2023, which will be held in France, the country will issue a comemmorative 2 euro coin. The design of the coin, which is still secret, can be seen below.

But the rugby league World Cup in France 2024 has been cancelled due to lack of investment. The union World Cup has more credo it would appear

Like the design! Too many coins coming out of the French mint, have decided to concentrate only on the €2 commemoratives. Had to resist myself from the Harry Potter themed silver collector coins they issued recently!

This has been an issue with many issues so to say. :)  Designs are somehow leaked, even though the mint, central bank etc. asks people not to do that. (Example in this case: "VEUILLEZ NE PAS COMMUNIQUER LES IMAGES!!! !!! Date de blocage 20.06.23!!!")

Traditionally such an embargo made sense – this way both audiovisual and print media could publish the news roughly at the same time. Or a company plans a press conference about something and does not want details to be published ahead of time. Well, these days such agreements are almost impossible ...
