Hi,
I recently purchased this piece of seal made on a piece of bone, has some inscriptions on the top left corner of the seal...it's a erotic scene on the seal...got to know that it's from Sunga period of 1 century.
Would appreciate if some experts on the field can pour some more knowledge details on the same.

Thanks

I could further find some input from the seller that this was found in chandraketugarh hoard findings in West Bengal. And the seller said that no other piece is similiar to this crude seal. This area flourishes before the Mauryan period and didn't have much effect over rise n fall of different dynasties which came along like the sungas or palas as this was a trading region and river paths were used for international trade during olden days.
More discussion would be enlightening.

Thanks

I do not no much about seals. But for dating, the text fragment could be your best information.
I tried to read the text as Brahmi. But it does not seem to fit Ashoka Brahmi to Gupta Brahmi. If this was a seal, and meant to make impressions, the text shown here would be mirrored. So i also tried to read it after mirroring the picture. I can not make sense of it. A blow-up of the text part in a higher resolution might make it easier.
