Pobjoy Mint to release Cu-Ni 50p coin to celebrate World Penguin Day. Issue limit is 1,950. Also available in proof silver with issue limit of 175. Orders dispatched from 8 May.

The design shows two Emperor penguins standing on the ice in inverted relief (incuse). Obverse circumscription is BRITISH ANTARCTIC TERRITORY - 2023 - KING CHARLES III - 50 PENCE, clockwise starting bottom left.

World Penguin Day is celebrated on the 25th April each year, as this is roughly the date when these amazing creatures start their annual migration.
