This was described as a Stockholm transit token dated 1953-1958. Could someone verify that and explain what it was used for? The structure on the reverse(?) is curious too. Many thanks.rsz_transit_token_1.jpg

This is indeed a Stockholm transit token, for the Katarinahissen lift. It's listed in WoT here:  Nya Katarinahissen / Kooperativa Förbundets - World of Tokens (worldofcoins.eu)

The building is the Stockholm HQ of the Swedish Cooperative Association (Kooperativa Förbundet), hence the KF on the other side. The lift still exists, but is currently not in use. The plan is to reopen it in connection with the wider changes to the whole Slussen area, probably in 2025.

As it happens, I covered this and other Stockholm lift tokens in my presentation at the February WoC online seminar. Technical problems meant that that session was not recorded in full, but it was suggested that the presentations should be uploaded anyway. Does anyone know whether this was done, and where they are?

Thank you all for the good information and the links. I'd also like to see the presentation if it's been uploaded.

I hope it can wait to next week. We're very close to the April session and that deserves precedence. BTW, FosseWay will do part 2 of his presentation and I am sure it will be at least as worthwhile as his previous presentations. Remember that at least ⅔ of the session will be on stuff you don't collect and that is a great mind-opener. If you want to attend (highly recommended), just send a PM with your email address to Hitesh for a treat that's better than a chocolate egg and free of calories.
