Fully agreed with the above. Must admit that, due to a mix of ignorance and festive inertia, I did not participate. But that contest is fun!

An update -
I have everything ready to be posted,
then last week the Royal Mail suffered a cyber "event" -
I still cannot post overseas...

Oh dear. I read about this last week (Friday, I think). The winners of this contest will probably not mind waiting a little, but that situation seems to be quite serious. Hope it can get resolved quickly!

As the Royal Mail is once again accepting large letters to send everything is in the post as of today.
However I'm told that they will likely sit in some warehouse for a while as they have quite a backlog.

I received a wee gift this morning which I assume has come from Andy.

Thank you very much. :)

I too have received the nice gift. Many thanks!

A nice little package was waiting for me this afternoon. Not only did I open up to a weighty 100Franc 8 Mai beauty, but 3 charming 50 pence commems as well. Among them being my very first King Charles coin!

Three cheers again for Andyg organising yet another much loved annual event!

Have a lovely weekend all!

Odd how the envelope reached the Netherlands a month ago,
another one I posted at the same time reached Austria yesterday :-\

Perhaps my letter got cleared now that the UK and Eu have made nice with each other. Perhaps mine was the peace letter sailing from the UK into N.Ireland, into Ireland and finally to Canada. I'd like to think so ;)

Just to add to the mystery, a dealer in Canada posted a letter to on 1st February. It arrived on 1st March. There was a one day postal workers strike in the intervening period, but it doesn't explain much.

Maybe all coins should be sent by email?

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

I didn't receive andyg's package yet.
Reading the above I have good hopes it will arrive soon.
I'll let you know when it arrives.

bart

Today the package arrived.
Thanks a lot, andyg, for the beautiful Guernsey birds series. I really enjoy it.
And also a great thank you for the Elizabeth Jubilee coins and for my first Charles III coin.
I really enjoy the December competitions and I also enjoy the prize!

Let me paraphrase what I wrote before ...

one month waiting to post, then another two months wait - I think we are looking at a new record!
