I have come across two varieties for those pieces of India/Republic 10 Paise KM-31 (1977, FAO - Save For Development) that were minted in Bombay. Do do seem to be known of but I am not sure of them having been shown here before.

Firstly what would seem to be the "normal" one, this has a thin rim to each side.

Then there is this variety with a distinctly thicker rim to the reverse.

There is at least one of each of the above amongst the pieces of India Republic 10 Paise KM-31 shown in Ucoin.

Have you measured the diameters to make sure it isn't just a slightly larger planchet?

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

I have not measured the diameters but if this was about the diameters then there would surely be a slight but visible difference. There is no visible differences in diameters.

Also - between the two there are some slight reverse differences, with such as the legends... e.g. see the horizontal bars on the first two "E"s in "DEVELOPMENT". Straight horizontal bars on the pieces with narrow reverse rims and not particularly straight horizontal bars on the pieces with wide reverse rims. Those differences are a bit clearer on the images I scaled down to get the images used here.
