Need some help with my latest addition for my collection..

I can clearly see a "Spanish"arm with castle and lion from the donor coin..
But i can't find it..

The coin weighs around 9,6 grams..
The edge is very crude milled, also inconsistent.. looks almost like cuts.
It's a bit visible on the photos

I was also wondering if it's possible that the 'donor' coin actually were bigger/resized before it were overstruck..

Thanks in advance for your opinions..

Dear all, nobody any idea.. ? I have also no comparison material, this is my first 8 Maravedis from Isabel II
So I'm a bit lost with this one..  But i guess that the edge doesn't look like as it suppose to do..

One of my thoughts were that the 'donor' coin maybe were a counterfeit and it later were reused to struck this 8 Maravedis.. But that does not seems very obvious..

Does someone maybe have a link to a "good" Spanish website for some research info..

Thanks so much..

I did have a look...
I was wondering if it were a provincial issue from Barcelona or Catalonia?
always willing to trade modern UK coins for modern coins from elsewhere....

I agree, the "original" coin might be a 6 cuartos from Catalonia:

I think i can read the "CO" from "CONST" of the original piece above the "LAS". The 6 cuartos is 14gr, while the 3 cuartos is 7gr, so it's possible the theory of being handcutted.

That's a very nice tip, and gave me some investigation options..
At first glance I think it could be a "pruned" 6 Quartos.
