The Croatian central bank (HNB) issued a 25 kuna coin that honors a bypass. :) You may have read about the opening of the Pelješac Bridge this summer. The bridge is about 2.5 km long and crosses Mali Ston Bay. This way travelers between, say, Split and Dubrovnik do no longer have to drive via Neum which is in Bosnia and Herzegovina and thus outside the European Union.

So instead of going through checkpoints at the EU external border twice within a short distance and time, people on that route can now stay in Croatia. This will be even more important once Croatia joins the Schengen Area (probably early '23). Enough about geography and politics ;) this is the coin:

The 25 kuna commem (mintage 30,000) was designed Damir Mataušić and issued in late July. More about the piece, and the design, in English is here. The image is from a HNB press release; I rotated it a little. :)
