Hi guys

Sorry for poor pictures not my item

I would like to know if this has possibility of being a genuine die

As these type of dies would need some heavy duty machinery

And look to have lot work put into it as compared to a counterfeit die

Thanks

Figleaf

Fake. The 1939 rupees are hard to find, but fakes abound. See here. What clinches it is that the dies can be mounted in the press in any angle relative to each other. If that were true for genuine dies, you would have seen die rotation rupee coins of this era.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.
