Hi,

One guy contacted me through some friends and asked for help. He found these three Ottoman coins (see the picture) in Moldova. I think they are Yüzlük, Selīm III, Islambol mint, KM# 507.

He is currently living in Bremen, Germany. I have no idea who might be interested in these coins in Germany and how the owner may sell them.

Would appreciate any help!

You didn't specify a size or weight, but by appearance I would agree with your attribution. The accession year 1203 H is on the side you show. The regnal year is on the other side, can be from 1 to 19 (AD 1789-1807). The number is in the bowl of the letter N of ibn (son) at the far left of the third line  ابن .

Where to sell in Germany is no different from other countries. The three are not expensive enough for an established auction house, so the answer is an online auction (high risk of not selling or selling below market), coin shop (dealer will want a high margin, usually 50%, but a good amount of ethnic Turks living in Germany will ensure that there is demand), coin event or street market (patience required).

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

Thanks Peter! I also think that he should address these coins to the Turkish collectors, but I could not find for him any community that collects Ottoman coins.

Thanks a lot! The guy is not a coin collector, so his goal is just to sell these coins.
