My opinion is an unsuccessful modern fake.
Compare with the originals, a large number of which I showed on Zeno.
Here is what is visible to the naked eye.
1. "Lost" image of a lion.
2. The last two digits are missing from the date.
3. The number 6 is depicted in retrograde.
4. The coin is cut off at the edges, and the weight is 6-7 percent more than the standard.

Assam coins are characterized by beautiful style and high quality.

I also had doubts about the genuineness of the coin but wasn't sure as I have never personally handled Assam rupees with nagari script. Thanks for highlighting the key points.

Excellent teamwork with rational, reasoned comments, gentlemen. This is how it ought to work. Thank you.
