USA has rather complex circulation coinage.
It issues quite a few circulating commemorative quarters every year.
In 2021, it issued "crossing Delaware" reverse on definitive quarter.
This year, it has been issuing quarters with "Washington turning its back to God" obverse for circulating commemorative quarters.

Will it issue a definitive quarter with "Washington turning its back to God" obverse with "crossing Delaware"  reverse?
If yes, then when?

The 2021 ''Crossing the Delaware'' Quarter is one year only.

Does it commemorate any anniversary of the event?
What would be termed as definitive quarters for 2021 and 2022?

It doesn't necessary commemorate anything but the event itself...2021 has no particular significance.

The crossing and subsequent victory over British troops and Hessian mercenaries at Trenton was the turning point in the Revolutionary War. Though insignificant in itself, it did prove to the Americans that they were capable of defeating a formidable opponent.

Agree, Offa. Politicians are rarely competent in military affairs. Unfortunately, many military people aren't either. The US Civil War is a good example. Too many people buying commissions...money but no competence in warfare.

The American Women quarters will be the only ones for 2022-2025. The Washington Crossing the Delaware quarter would only have been re-issued in 2022 if no new commemorative program had been legislated by Congress.

In 2026, there will be five quarters for the semiquincentennial. Then, through 2030, five each year for youth sports. Who knows what 2031 will bring.
