I purchased this ancient coins from ebay as Islamic India Coins
and I need your help identifying it from what era and year and what is written on it
any information will be helpful
weight 11.8 g

Figleaf

Ceylon, 48 stuivers 1801 (?), KM77.

Obv: *CEYLON GOVERNMENT around denomination
Rev: Elephant looking left above date

Since the coin is dated 1801, it is not ancient. As it is inscribed in Latin characters, it is not Islamic. If you don't know anything about the coin, post it on the board "Unidentified coins".

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

This coin is a Ceylon 1801 copper Dump  1/48th of a Rix Dollar or 1 Stiver
48 Stivers would be a Rix Dollar and is a Silver dump coin of similar design with 48ST and minted between 1803-05 and 1808-09
