Philippines 1 sentimo 1982.jpg

Philippines, 1 sentimo, 1982.

From 1979 to 1982, the sentimos denominations were issued with slightly amended designs.

The logo of the Central Bank had been simplified, and this was reflected on the obverse of the coins.

Perhaps the old logo was thought to look too old-fashioned in the 1970s.

The 1 and 5 piso coins showed the coat of arms and so did not need to be updated.

Here you see the new reverse of the 1 sentimo coin.

The reverse of the coin retained the same design, but it now included the letters "BSP" at bottom right.
