I want to introduce you the two most complete websites of medieval coins from the ancient kingdom of Castilla y Leon (also including both Castilla and Leon as separate kingdoms):

https://monedamedieval.es/ 《- By the medieval expert Antonio Roma, it includes a wide catalogue of coins with pictures and all the needed info (minting years, laws ordering it, archeological findings, etc.)

https://wearenumismatics.com/imperatrix/  《- By another expert, Manuel Mozo. Aside all the kings from Alfonso VI (1072-1109) to Enrique IV (1454-1474) it also includes the coinages by many pretendants, consort kings, regents and such "not kings".

They're both in spanish, but Roma's website allows to do copy+paste for the google translator. I hope you'll find them useful.

Here's a way to read both sites in another language. I am taking an English version as an example:

  • Open Google translate (https://translate.google.com) in a separate window.
  • Set it to translate from Spanish to e.g. English.
  • Copy the URL of the site you want to translate, e.g. https://monedamedieval.es/
  • Paste that URL in the left window. It will appear as a link in the right window.
  • Click on the link in the right window
  • The site will now appear in English, with some extra buttons at the top of the page.
  • Internal links will work as intended.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.
