The weight of a standard rupee is approximately 11.66 g. at 2.32 g this is a 1/5th Rupee. I am not an expert on the coins of the Bombay Presidency but your coin looks similar to one of these. I may be wrong.

I am moving this thread to the appropriate section.

I agree with the identification of 1/5 rupee (weight is a good match), and that this is perhaps Bombay Presidency: I think I can read "Munbai" on the second pic. However, the other side and the rest of the legends are harder to make out.

Please see below post.

Figured out this coin.

India French 1/5 rupee, Pondicherry.
What I thought was "Munbai" is actually "Kampani France". Other side is "Sana Zarb Bhulcheri" (=Pondicherry). Date is off flan.
Compare to this auction specimen: https://www.marudhararts.com/printed-auction/auction-no-13/lot-no-566/coins-of-india/european-enclave/india-french/silver-1/5-rupee-of-indo-french-mahe-of-pondicherry-.html

I saw this coin listed on eBay. Please consider correcting the attribution for that listing.

Great id, great coin. While there is solid demand for Pondicherri coins in France, there is little supply.
