In a surprise move, India's finance ministry issued a notification to announce a 100 rupees commemorative coin to commemorate Harcourt Butler Technical University Centenary celebrations. HBTU is located in Kanpur and the President of India dedicated the coin on 25th November 2021.

The coin depicts an image of the main building with the university name in hindi and english on the circular periphary. The years 1921-2021 are inscribed under the main building. I've seen a couple of designs on the internet with a decorative circle separating the building image and the university name. Close up images were not available so far.

Three other coins are awaiting issuance so far: Satguru Ram Singh Ji, Swami Pranavananda and Guru Tegh Bahadur.

Commemorative coin is now available for purchase on spmcil.com. Prices for the UNC and proof coin are rather high, possibly because the mints may have purchased silver when prices were high earlier this year. At any rate, UNC coin is being sold for Rupees 4140 and proof version for Rupees 4461.
