Introduction

This index serves as a portal for the collectors of what is commonly called British Commonwealth coins. It covers coins only, not tokens or fantasy issues.

The index identifies territories that have / had association with Britain. Where nations are renamed, their current name takes precedence (the former name being enclosed in brackets) providing they have remained members of the Commonwealth of Nations or their name change was prior to leaving British administration. Otherwise, the original name applies. Where original territories have been subsequently split into nations, 'defunct' has been added in brackets. The index also includes supporting currencies (e.g., Anchor Money). Not all territories have issued coins authorised by the British during administration.

The links lead to boards that require searching to locate a particular thread. Once you are on the right board, a simple search (top right on every page) will give a list of threads where that name is mentioned. If there are no hits, it is likely that there are no threads on that territory or currency.
