« on: October 15, 2021, 01:34:30 AM »
Hello everyone...!!!  Hope you are having a nice day/evening...!!!  =))

I found this coin in a lot of Asian coins:  some are Ayyubid, Ghaznavid, Dehli Sultante and Bahmani Sultanate - so it's a nice mix...

the coin in question I was searching and searching through/on Zeno and couldn't find anything close...

Here's what I know about it so far:  Metal - AR  ||  Size - 16-18mm  ||  Weight - 2.5g

It has great details so lots of the script is visible, please help me read it...!!!  :))

Thank you in advance...!!!  =))

Thank you Maythem so much... with your help I found a match to my coin on Zeno:

https://www.zeno.ru/showphoto.php?photo=254072

And on Numista, I found this information:

Iran's Coinage:
Shahi (1501-1798)
First Rial (1798-1825)
Qiran (1825-1932)  - my coin falls into this range of dates (i.e. 1834AD / AH1250)  so the denomination is - "2/5 Qiran"
Second Rial (1932-date)

I also found this coin in the Krause book:  KM# 716 - 2/5 Qiran - with only 2 dates when this coin was minted AH1247 and AH1250.  However, the weight in the Krause is 2.76g vs the Zeno and my coin - 2.5g...

With your help, I provide this information for our viewers - b/c I think they might find it useful, at some point...  :))  Thank you agian...!!!

Thank you mti, from your shown references, the correct date of your coin is 1250:
Qajar, Fath 'Ali Shah, 1250 AH, Silver ¼ Rial, Kerman mint (AH 1212-1250 /1797-1834 AD)
Reverse (First photo): Mint place inside 3 beaded circles:
ضرب كرمان ۱۲۵۰
, Zarb Kerman. Date is at the top “ 1250 ۱۲۵۰ “.
Obverse (Second photo): inside beaded circle:
خسرو کشور سِتان سكه فتحعلى شه , ” Khosrow Keshvar Setan Sekka Fath 'Ali Shah”, meaning, Coin of Fath 'Ali Shah, conqueror of the country referring to the events of the wars between Iran and Russia.
Please note that your coin is equivalent to 312.5 dinars or a quarter of a rial; the standard weight is 2.6 gm and 2.3 gm.
