RM are like dairy farmers as they are quite adept at milking, especially those members of the public with more money than sense. ;D

I last bought a proof set before the price rocketed up to £150 - If I've read the advert right the 2022 proof set is £395 !!

Would that be a silver proof set you're referring to?  There's a silver proof set of this 10-coin memorial collection at £465.  Gold proof £10,715 and Platinum proof £13,645.

sorry - It was this advert I'd found on the phone earlier - which on closer inspection turns out to be "the brittania coin company" -

Our of interest what was the official price?
Seems they are no longer on the official mint site.

Not sure what the official price was, but an issue limit of 7,000 is tiny compared with the 100,000 I seem to remember from the 1990s.

At around 10 A.M. this morning, I nipped into my little local Tesco Express, here in the London Borough of Croydon. I bought two 4 pint bottles of semi-skimmed milk, cost £3.50 in total. I proffered a 5 pound note and was given a pound coin and a 50 pence in change. The 50 pence looked particularly shiny. I had a close look at it and discovered that it was the King Charles III commemorative 50 pence (2022). I hadn't expected to get one until around July of this year. Mind you, I often enough receive recent commemorative 50 pence coins at the Tesco Express.

Attends ... Hogwarts Express, c'est une pièce française. ;D  From a series of H.P. silver and gold "coins" issued in 2021 and 2022. (Sigh.)
