New Zealand 1990 collector set.


In 1990 New Zealand issued a special set of collector coins.

The set  commemorated the 150th anniversary of the Treaty of Waitangi.


The set was issued in both silver and copper-nickel versions.

The reverse designs were the work of Horst Hahne.

The 5 cents was the lowest denomination of the set.

The reverse design featured a stylised kotuku bird.

This symbolising the planting of 700 000 trees in 1990: one for each child in New Zealand.
