Not sure if this was already announced in other topic but here are non-circulated 2022 coins...

Royal Mint just started the 2022 series with 10 new The Royal Tudor Beasts... First one is The Seymour Panther, as usually avaliable as cupronickiel 5Ł and different size/denominations in silver & gold.

Two five-pound coins have just been announced:

One depicting Peter Rabbit, with the inscription "120 YEARS" and "THE TALE OF PETER RABBIT".

The other to celebrate Prince Williams' 40th birthday, depicting a portrait of The Duke of Cambridge accompanied by his cypher and age.

I have decided not to get irritated any more by idiotic "jubilee" issues and turn them into mathematical puzzles instead. This one had a fun resolution.

If you don't remember "Darwin's dilemma" (yes, MacOS 7; I am THAT old), it was a computer game that started with a collection of simple animals. By clicking on three of the same icons, you'd be rewarded with a more complicated animal. The objective of the game was to create a human.

The phoney jubilee time periods on these two issues play like Darwin's dilemma: click on three dukes of Cambridge and they turn into ... Peter Rabbit!

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

They're really milking Peter Rabbit for all he's worth, aren't they!

A special 2022-dated 5 pounds coin in proof quality has suddenly been released in the shop of the Royal Mint Experience. Permission for the issuance of such coin was given in February 2020. I have been informed that the coin will only be available from that shop. The shop receives 100 coins per day and sells maximum 3 pieces per person. The coins cost 20 pounds each. The reverse of the coin depicts the design that was also used on the reverse of the last round pound coin that was issued in 2016.

Just ran across the reverse of the pack on Facebook which says the mintage of the coin will be 7,500 coins.

The only £5 coins I buy are as part of the annual proof set, apart from that they are nothing more than tokens.
All coins are equal but some are more equal than others

A special 5 pound coin for the centenary of the discovery of Tutankhamun' tomb will soon be issued. The coin will depict the mask of Tutankhamun. Interesting theme.

Interesting design. Unlike many other "Tut coins", that £5 does not use a full frontal view (here for example is an Austrian coin from 2020). Now those rays I would have left out, but all in all I like the British design.
