I wonder if you can direct me to a dynasty and a mint in the case of this fals with its distinct obverse and reverse motif. Diameter: 18 mm. Weight: 1.9 gr. Thanks!

Dear Paul, on left photo, I can read:
محمود عمر شاه or محمد عمر شاه (Mahmud or Muhammad 'Umar shah).
On right photo is the mint:
Zarb .....
It could be:
Sultans of Delhi, Khaljis, Shihab al-Din 'Umar, AE Fals.
I hope that helps

Saikat

Sorry only one 6 gani of Shihab al-Din Umar is documented and that weighs ~3.5 gm.
Here is mine.
Clearly the text does not matches.
Thanks,
Saikat

Thank you Saikat, I have seen that and agree it does not match. But I can read the arabic text as:
محمود عمر شاه or محمد عمر شاه (Mahmud or Muhammad 'Umar shah).
I hope that helps.

Dear Maythem and Saikat, thank you very much for your help with this coin. Naturally, I don't really read Arabic, but somehow the coin looks to me older than the Khalji period (about 700 AH / 1300 AD), and also, I had expected it to be from the Arabic world, not the Indian subcontinent.

But I looked into the available SNAT catalogs, where I didn't find anything.

I tried to find this 'Umar in the Album catalog, but couldn't locate a suitable candidate. And how does one call this knot on both sides of the coin, is it a four-pointed star or does it have a special name in English?

Dear Paul, I tried to define the knot on both sides as:
Quatrefoil knot
Windmill
Pinwheel
Othogonal ellipses

Dear Paul, I think your coin could be Ottoman:
Ottoman, Mahmud I ibn Mustafa II, 1155 AH, Copper Para, Tarablus gharb (Tripoli, Libya) mint (AH 1143-1168/1730-1754 AD)
Left photo: round the central Quatrefoil knot, it reads:
محمود عز سنه ١١٥٥ نصره , Mahmud 'Azza Nasrahu sanah 1155
Right photo: round the central Quatrefoil knot, it reads:
ضرب في طرابلس غرب , duriba  fi Tarablus gharb.
I hope that this time, I am correct, otherwise back to square one.

Dear Maythem, thanks for all your trouble. I somehow had expected it to be early medieval, but maybe I'm mistaken.
I'll show you a better coin later today.

Thank you Paul, the reason I chose Ottoman approach is that the style of a knot in the center with inscription round the knot. The attached photo shows an Ottoman Mahmud II copper coin.
