A Guernsey collector coin dated 1999-2000.

It was copper-nickel with a brass centre.

There was also a silver version, with a gold-plated centre.

Notice that on this version, the legend on the reverse reads: 'ONE POUND' instead of MILLENNIUM.

Additionally, the obverse includes a small Guernsey lily at the bottom right of the centre.

eurocoin

On the silver version, the core can be taken out and is a separate coin. So with the silver version you actually get 2 coins. I believe that something like this was first done in the early 1800's in Australia with the Holey dollar and the dump.
